Community Fundraiser

Rosie Cowpertwaite

Rosie Cowperthwaite is the Community Fundraising volunteer at Cheka Sana. She is a trained early years teacher, living in North Bedfordshire. Rosie shall be heading up community fundraising for Cheka Sana, ensuring Cheka Sana’s name and the great work we do is known by as many people as possible. She will be organising a variety of events in the community and online, as well as communicating with the wider public. Cheka Sana is a charity close to Rosie’s heart as she volunteered at the project in Tanzania during her gap year in 2007.

Rosie has also visited South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi, working on health, education and community projects.  She is determined to ensure that, awareness of the harsh realities people and communities face, and the positive impact projects like this can have on their lives are raised. Rosie is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people. Cheka sana means ‘smiles a lot’, childhood should be full of happiness and laughter. Rosie wants to help ensure that the children and young people are supported by our projects, do laugh lots and have experiences which enable them to fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams.
